It has been almost a year since our last blog post. As you can imagine life gets pretty busy on the farmstead and blogging takes the back burner. In the last 11 months, the farmstead has grown by one puppy (Scout our female farm dog) and she turned 1 in October '25. She has been fitting in well and we are mostly past the hard parts of puppy-hood. Her only weakness is a love of horse-manure and tormenting the chickens.
Speaking of chickens, we now have a thriving flock of around 40 hens (and one rooster). Our rooster does not live in with the hens (he has one out to keep him company). We love our new coop (we moved the back-yard coop to the front and made an attached covered aviary/run. We get A LOT of eggs in a variety of fun colors (and sizes) so be sure to stop by the FARM STAND on Nevers Road if you want to try them. The farm stand also has Crochet items, Handmade Candles, Holiday/Seasonal items (such as simmer pot packs), A little free library etc. Thank you for your support!
This year we have donated lessons for a few different local causes including BREAKTHROUGH T1 Diabetes Research, Take The Next Step Family Resource Center, Forest Explorers Co-Op & a private fundraiser for a local family experiencing cancer. We also launched a partnership with Snohomish County Foster Families, to provide free horsemanship experiences for children in need. We have been witness to amazing and beautiful experiences through this program. We thank God for allowing us to make a difference in the lives of local children. Wishing you all a blessed 2026!
