This week we have had much cooler weather, followed by some rain today! It is always nice to give the pasture and the round-pen a dust-quenching rain. Last week was our second Tuesday of September, meaning we are half-way through our September lessons! Our October sign up link went out to our students and the slots were full within 24 hours (with eleven students on our wait-list). We are so glad that we are able to do what we do, it brings us so much joy.
We have 3 new baby chicks on the farmstead! They are absolutely THE cutest chicks. The barn kittens have been working on growing and will be getting 'fixed' soon and then we hope they can start roaming the farmstead and catching mice! Our pumpkins are getting HUGE.... take a look when you come next (they are just to the side of the barn on the edge of the driveway/pasture). Jaden the duck found his way back to the ladies (by way of his son who apparently informed him that it really wasn't that far to just walk back down there). Oh dear! Does anyone want a drake? He is very pretty.
The last bit of news (you may have seen our post about) is our round-pen solar-lights.... After a couple tries, we found some that check all the boxes and they are working great! We have just one more to put up this weekend and we should be set. We try to avoid lessons after dark but with waning light and Liv taking driver's Ed, we were not able to avoid it completely. It can actually be fun though on a crisp fall evening! Phil did wonderfully with our little student on lead-line in our solar-power lit round-pen last week
We hope you are all enjoying the last official bit of Summer and have a great start to your Fall!
